Casey was a fairly new member to the Pai Zhuq Academy and hence known as a cub. He has the power to stand up for what he believes in and for others. He doesn't like him or any other people to get pick on. When Casey stood up one day for a fellow cub who is being verbally abused by Jarrod, Master Mao dismissed Jarrod. Master Mao saw the potential that Casey had in him and chose him instead of Jarrod, to guard Dai Shi, but after Master Mao was destroyed. The trio went to Ocean Bluff where they met RJ and give him the powers of the Red Tiger Ranger. Casey still has doubts about himself because his teammates are much more experience than them and he felt like he had to train twice as hard. Casey is a nice, laid back guy who is very easy to get along with. At the pizza pallor Jungle Karma Pizza, he is a pro when it comes to making pizza. Casey now needs to find out what it takes to become a leader and lead his team. Sometimes Casey can be over confident especially when he tried to go up agaisnt Dai Shi alone, but he got himself hurt. After Lily and Theo had received new masters, Casey was eager to meet his new master, but R.J. was not because it is his father Master Finn. When Master Finn saved Casey from Rinshi, Casey became good friends with the master and mastered the shark technique. Casey eventually made up with R.J. that he will always be his master. When Dai Shi beat up the Rangers profusely in a big showdown and sequestered R.J., the Rangers were left Master-less. R.J. told them they knew what to do, which was to go back to basics, which led them back to the Pai Zhuq Academy room where Dai Shi was kept. The Rangers noticed the masters' animal spirits etched in the wall and wondered where the gorilla, penguin, and antelope masters. They were greeted once more by their fallen teacher Master Mao. He sent them to the Spirit World at Casey's urging to be trained by three fallen masters. They put them through tests, Master Rilla sent Casey to a dimension that resembled his old bedroom and had to face his childhood fear of a monster in his closet. Once he got it over it, he opened the door to find he had passed the test and granted the Claw Boosters, Jungle Master mode, and Gorilla animal spirit zord.

He was later able to summon the Shark Spirit Ranger whenever needed. Casey's tiger spirit was stolen by Whiger and he was unable to morph, because if he did, his life would be in danger. Casey was teaching a class of young students at the time and one of his students that was always being picked on, helped in giving more power against a foe. Whiger's Rinzin was taken by Dai Shi and banished for not defeating Casey. Casey help and befriended the weakened Whiger and Whiger assisted him in saving his friends. Whiger then faded away because his power was running out, but he didn't leave Casey's mind. When Casey battled Master Finn in a test for his Master Stripes, he didn't know what to do and followed what the others did and failed. He then saw Jarrod save Camille from danger and was convinced that Jarrod was still in Dai Shi, but no one else believed him. He fought Dai Shi in his palace and came back with Jarrod and Camille to join in battle, for this he earned his stripes. After the finale battle against Dai Shi, Casey was teaching a class in Phi Zhuq with Jarrod and Camille as students.

Theo is a confident, bossy and straight laced conservative who always want to be in charge. Theo takes what he does very seriously and is a very skillful fighter. Master Mao saw his potential along with his excellent fighting skills, and chose him to be a new guardian of Dai Shi. But now that Dai Shi has been released, Theo was selected to become the Blue Ranger. Theo's weapon of choice is the deadly tonfa, which he mastered in his second year of training. RJ had Theo show Casey how to master the Numchucks. He has been friends with Lily for years and became jealous when her friendship with Casey started budding. Unbeknownst to even Lily, he has a twin brother. Even though it is clear to Fran and RJ that Theo's feelings extends behind what meets the eye, Theo denies his feelings go beyond friendship. Theo is learning he can't always be in complete control and one time he lost his confidence for loosing a battle to one of the Five Fingers but RJ helped him out and was able to regain his confidence just in time. Theo is such a great multi-tasker that he took it for granted to the point that the quality of his work was failing. he was unable to see this, as he didn't know anything beyond doing many tasks at once. He reveal that as a child, he was always expected to excel in everything. Master Swoop taught him to concentrate at the task at hand and to be balanced. He is given the Jungle Fans to defeat some high-flying servants of Carnisoar and destroys them with the Bat animal spirit zord. When Dai Shi beat up the Rangers profusely in a big showdown and sequestered R.J., the Rangers were left Master-less. He surrenders himself to Dai Shi, who takes him hostage as the Rangers go 'back to basics.' R.J. was forced to fight Dai Shi in a big cage match, Dai Shi tried to steal R.J.'s wolf spirit. His wolf spirit was too strong for Dai Shi but because he couldn't have it, he tainted it. When R.J. returns, he is unable to control his wolf side and becomes a werewolf. But he doesn't share this with the others and claims it is a muscle sprain. The Red and Blue ranger even fights his werewolf form without knowing it was him. He overcomes it enough to become the Wolf Ranger to save the Rangers defeat a minion of Grizzaka. His werewolf form was agitated once again by Dai Shi's spirits released by Grizzaka and he turned against the Rangers while in the Megazords. He rescued Flit from under some debris and flit considered him his friend and wanted to repay him. He did so by enabling RJ to fight his werewolf side and merge them together. As the Wolf Ranger, RJ uses his fists, knees and feet to fight the Rinshi in a form of kick-boxing. He can activate his Wolf Morpher for extra wolf power in his attacks.

Before his father Master Finn was captured by the Phantom Beast Generals, he created a machine to help and RJ used it but it was broken by one of the Phantom Beast Warriors. He used it again to rescue his father from being encased in a Crystal Eye. Once the main three Rangers had their ceremony to become masters, RJ told Casey he taught him all he could, even when Casey was conflicted after not being awarded his stripes. He was proud of his student when he indeed earned his stripes and after the final battle, RJ continued his life as the proprietor of Jungle Karma Pizza.

Dominick is an old friend of R.J. who was told by Master Mao to find his path, so he has been traveling the world for six years. He decides to play a friendly trick on the employees of Jungle Karma as a health inspector that ruffles the feathers of the Rangers. He witnesses the Rangers in action and feels this is the path he must follow. The Rangers don't want him to join because they believe everything is a game to him. R.J. tells him he can't join unless they want him to. Fran instantly warms up to him, telling him he will be missed if he left. He saves her with his Rhino spirit and impresses Casey. He is given a bracelet that enables Dom to morph into the Rhino Ranger. Dominick was given the Control Dagger by Master Mao long ago, telling him it would lead him to his destiny. He hid it in a supposedly safe place of a restaurant. Camille lures Dominick into a fight by fooling him and takes the Control Dagger from him when distracted. She and Dai Shi use it to enter the Rhino Nexus. As the three Rangers became masters, it wasn't always for Dominick and he was fine with it. During their time working together, he and Fran developed a unique connection. At his farewell party after the final battle, he surprised her with a ticket to join him in back-packing through Europe.
