Mack is the son of Andrew Hartford and dreams of one day becoming an adventurer like his father. When he learns of his father's plans to form an elite group of Power Rangers, Mack tries to convince his dad to let him join. Although Andrew is originally opposed to this, Mack shows himself and becomes the team's Red Ranger. Though after an accident which leads to a civilian almost getting hurt, Mack begins to question his importance to the team, the other Rangers show that they rely on him.
Mack is the heart of the Overdrive team. He is a friendly and reliable comrad and has taught Will the value of teamwork and was the first one to reach out to Tyzonn. It was his courage and will to keep fighting even when the Rangers had lost their powers that freed the legendary sword Excelsior.

Filled with memories of events that never existed, Mack begins to question his very existence. In the final battle against Flurious, Mack gives all the energy he has to destroy Flurious and makes the ultimate sacrifice. The Sentinel Knight uses the legendary power of the Corona Aurora to restore Mack and give him the gift that he earned; humanity.

Will is expert covert spy, Andrew had him break into his own bank in Brazil to test his skills, which impressed Will as well. Will was at first hesitant about believing Andrew and join a team as he said he rather work solo. Once the protector of the Crown came in front of Dax, Ronny, Rose and him and told him it was real, he agreed to have his DNA enhanced. He was stoked to discover his ability to see super far and hear from great distances. He also took a quick shine to Will as he advised him to use his Drive Slammer, a large hammer, to break the ground to let overflowing lava in to save the city when Moltor unleashed it. When Andrew hid the Overdrive Tracker from Mac in his safe, Will used his breaking and entering skills to retrieve it. Ironically, those skills were the very reason Andrew chose Will to be the Black Ranger. On a excursion inside the underwater ruins of Atlantis, Will lack leadership skills and Mac simply told him that he respected him but he had to work with them. Later on when Will joined Miratrix, the rangers' fears of Will not playing along came true but luckily, it was all part of Andrew's plan to get the Hou-ou bird artifact. Will seduced the wary Miratrix and gained the confidence of her and Kandor. Will's zord is a large car-like vehicle known as the Speed Driver.

Dax is energetic and enthusiatic. Dax was a Hollywood stuntman who had dreamed to be the leading man, not the lowly unappreciated stuntman when he was given the chance to save the world. He was more that thrilled to hear Andrew could make him a Power Ranger but he was going to join with the others when they were leaving because they didn't believe Andrew. He was stoked to discover his ability to jump ridiculously high distances and bounce at a steady pace.When walking in the city with classifieds, Dax ran to save a girl from a monster and became quite enamored with her. She said her name was Mira and she was an avid visitor to the Hartford estate. So much that his teammates grew tired of his infatuation and believed he was focusing too much of his energy on her. It soon came to light that her true identity is Miratrix, he had realized this when he noticed the monster would only appear when she was around and she mentioned the Corona Aurora---a fact he never told her.

Ronny is a champion stock car driver. Ronny's energy and fondness for fast vehicles are reasons why Andrew chose her to be the Yellow Ranger. Ronny was at first hesitant about believing Andrew. Once the protector of the Crown came in front of Dax, Will, Rose and her and told her it was real, she agreed to have her DNA enhanced. She was stoked to discover her ability of super speed. She was also excited to pilot the S.H.A.R.C., a high-tech jet, to save Andrew from an island far away. She is always up for a challenge but in the beginning, she only wanted to win. When she learned winning wasn't everything, she let Mac receive the Defender Vest instead of her. Ronny uses large scoopers attached to both of her hands called Drive Claw, capable of breaking through mountain rock. Ronny's zord is a large bull-dozer known as the Dozer Driver. After the mission was complete and Mack became human, Ronny returned to her racing life.

Rose is a Mensa level genius who studied in Harvard and was working on robotics and other technologies in a British university when Andrew contacted her to become the Pink Ranger. Rose is so familiar with computers and technology, that she was able to fully operate Andrew's computer systems in the secret base under his mansion. Rose was at first hesitant about believing Andrew. Once the protector of the Crown came in front of Dax, Will, Ronny and her and told her it was real, she agreed to have her DNA enhanced. Once everyone else's genetic powers were revealed, she wonder what were hers and discovered it was invisibility. As the Pink Ranger, Rose weilds the Drive Geyser that can deploy a fine line of high-pressured water. Rose's zord is an undersea diver called the Sub Driver. After the Corona Aurora and the Jewels were returned to Sentinel Knight, Rose returned to teaching students at an University.

Tyzonn is a Mercurian Intergalatic Emergency Responder who rescue people during emergencies. When arriving to Earth, he happened upon Moltor who transformed him into one of his lizard hybrids after denying to join him. In this form, he was forced to retrieve a parchment from the Power Rangers but managed to rip it two. His natural mercury abilities still function while in this form. Mac befriended him and they worked together to stop Moltor. With the help of the Sentinel Knight, the Rangers used the two jewels of the Corona returned Tyzonn back to normal. When asked to join the Rangers, Tyzonn politely declined and went on his own. When the Fear Cats attacked an archeological squad in Brazil, the Rangers came to help, and soon met up with Tyzonn. Tyzonn had a past with the Fear Cats. Tyzonn was once part of a team and they went to a cave where the Fear Cats were said to be in. When the cave collapsed, Tyzonn worried for the safety of their oppressors and sent his team inside.
But unfortunately, the Fear Cats had already escaped and set off a bomb closing the cave off. The lose of his fellow teammates caused Tyzonn to doubt his leading abilities and dislike wanting to be part of another team. When the Fear Cats used Ronny to release Benglo, Tyzonn was transformed into his mercury Form. Mr. Hartford transform him back by using his technology along with Ronny. Ronny then tried to convince Tyzonn that his place with with the Rangers, as part of the team. He declined once again until the Rangers were at the mercy of the Fear Cats and he joined them. He became the Mercury Ranger and later received three zords of his own that become the Flash Point Megazord.
When Crazar came along, she pulled a trick on Tyzonn making him believe she was Vella and the events on Earth never occurred. After learning, during his battle with Crazar, that Vella was still alive, Tyzonn promised that after he completed the Ranger's mission, he would find his lost fianc. After the final battle with Flurious was won, Tyzonn's search for Vella was cut short when Norg showed up at the mansion with Vella. She was saved from the Chillers by Norg. Now Tyzonn and Vella have reunited, they can continue their plans for the future.
